2. Installation

Download the zipped package from Codecanyon and extract to your desktop. Before processing the installation, you need to upgrade WordPress to WordPress 4.9 or later.

You can use FTP or WordPress to install

2.1 Using WordPress

  • Log into your WP dashboard

  • Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload

  • Click Choose File .

  • Navigate to find the "wordpress-user-photo.zip" file in the extracted package.

  • Click "Install Now" button.

  • Click Active plugin to activate WordPress User Photo

2.2 Using FTP

  • Log into your site via FTP

  • Find the "wordpress-user-photo" folder in the extracted package. Then upload this folder to the wp-content/plugins folder in your WordPress directory on your server

  • Log Into WordPress and go to Plugins > Installed Plugins. Find WordPress User Photo in the list

  • Active "WordPress User Photo" plugins

3. Create category

Click on the Manage Photos -> Categories menu item. You will see a welcome screen like this:

4. Create tags

Click on the Manage Photos -> Tags menu item. You will see a welcome screen like this:

5. Create types

Click on the Manage Photos -> Types menu item. You will see a welcome screen like this:

6. Create ages

Click on the Manage Photos -> Ages menu item. You will see a welcome screen like this:

7. Manage licenses

Click on the Manage Photos -> Manage Licenses menu item. You will see a welcome screen like this:

Now, Right click the Add new button to add new license.

8. Manage Albums

Click on the Manage Albums -> All albums menu item. You will see a welcome screen like this:

Now, Right click the Add new button to add new album.

8.1 Manage Locations

Click on the Manage Albums -> Locations menu item. You will see a welcome screen like this:

9. Manage Photos

After the users submitted the their photos to your site, the photos are displayed all here to you review the their photos.

Click on the Manage Photos -> All Photos menu item. You will see a welcome screen like this:

Here, Administrators can toggle Approved/Featured/Allow download status for the photo without going to edit the detail photo.

9.1 Reject a photo

If you want to reject a the photo and send the email notification for reason reject to user, you edit the detail photo then select reject in Privacy box.

9.2 Approve a photo

After you reviewed a the photo and you want to approved the photo, you edit the detail photo then select approved in Privacy box. An approved notification will be sent to user

9.3 Create/edit a photo

You can create/edit a photo and assign to an author

10. Users to manage their albums

You need to create a My Albums page to users can manage their albums, Default the plugin will create this page automatically

In which the content of my album page will includes the [wup_my_albums] shortcode to display manage albums for user

With shortcode you can display anywhere. you can display them in a post/page like this

Finally, you need to set my album page for the plugin, Go to Manage Photos -> Settings -> Album

10.1 All Albums

All albums of user will be displayed here

10.2 Create album

To create a new photo, you click on Create Album button

You fill all required fields in album form then click on Submit button to submit the album to create album

10.3 Update a album

Go to My Albums to find out any albums you want to edit , click on Edit button.

Administrator can allow/disable the ability of Edit/Delete their own albums in the settings page

11. Users to manage their photos

You need to create a My Photos page to users can manage their photos, Default the plugin will create this page automatically

In which the content of my account page will includes the [wup_my_photos] shortcode to display manage photos for user

With shortcode you can display anywhere. you can display them in a post/page like this

Finally, you need to set my photos page for the plugin, Go to Manage Photos -> Settings -> Photo

11.1 All Photos

All photos of user will be displayed here, includes the both pending and approved photos

11.2 Pending

All photos which need to wait administrator review photos

11.3 Approved

All photos which approved by administrator will be displayed here

11.4 Create a photo

To create a new photo, you click on Create Photo button

You fill all required fields in photo form then click on Submit button to submit the photo to server, an email notification will be sent to administrators for reviewing the photo.

11.5 Update a photo

Go to My Photos to find out any photos you want to edit , click on Edit button.

Administrator can allow/disable the ability of Edit/Delete their own photos in the settings page

12. Albums Home Page

This page will list out all albums created by all users, You need to create a Albums page to display albums, Default the plugin will create this page automatically

Now, you need to set Albums page for the plugin, Go to Manage Photos -> Settings -> Albums

You can use [wup_albums] shortcode to display list albums on any pages

12. Photos Home Page

This page will list out all photos created by all users, You need to create a Photos page to display photos, Default the plugin will create this page automatically

Now, you need to set Photos page for the plugin, Go to Manage Photos -> Settings -> Photo

13. Email notification

Go to Manage Photos -> Settings -> Notification.

You can enable/disable notification, the plugin allows use editor to customize all emails

14. User roles

Go to Manage Photos > Settings -> Roles.

The plugin use WordPress capabilities and roles integration to limit who can do what

Go to Manage Photos -> Settings. the plugin allows to configure photo type, roles, limit upload file size, email, ...

16. The Plugin Template

16.1 Default Templates

The plugins allow use template for display layout, so you can custom template easily

You can see in the folder {root}/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-user-photo/templates/

16.2 Custom Template

The plugin support overwrite, custom template from default template. You only create a wordpress-user-photo in the root of activating theme. Copy the template of the plugin you need to custom to here and change what you wan to

17. Updating Plguin

Once the new version gets released, you can update via WordPress or FTP .

Update via FTP:

This is the safest way. If you have access via FTP to your site files, you can update the old one simply by overwriting your wp-content/plugins/wordpress-user-photo folder with the newer one.

Update via WordPress:

You deactivate and delete the plugin on the Plugin’s administration page of WordPress and upload and active the updated plugin. We recommend the via FTP solution, because it’s safer.

Notice: You should not use the way Update via WordPress. Because this way if you have any changes in plugin folder it will be deleted.
