1. Introduction

ZF Category Image Slider / ZF Category Image Grid plugin allow users to upload category image and display in grid and slider view.

You can show your product/post categories in a modern looking and descriptive slider that show details of your category. ZF Category Image Slider plugin has lots of features that allows you to control the slider and its content.

2. Installing The Plugin

Download the zipped package from CodeCanyon and extract to your desktop. You can use FTP or WordPress to install plugin

2.1 Using WordPress

  • Log into your WP dashboard

  • Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload

  • Click Choose File .

  • Navigate to find the "zf-category-image-slider.zip" file in the extracted package.

  • Click "Install Now" button.

  • Click Active plugin to activate ZF Category Image Slider

2.2 Using FTP

  • Log into your site via FTP

  • Find the "zf-category-image-slider" folder in the extracted package. Then upload this folder to the wp-content/plugins folder in your WordPress directory on your server

  • Log Into WordPress and go to Plugins > Installed Plugins. Find ZF Category Image Slider in the list

  • Active "ZF Category Image Slider" plugins

3. Create slider

To create a slider click on the ZF Category Image Slider > Add new menu item. You will see a welcome screen like this:

Enter a title of slider and config slider. Finally, clicking Publish/Update button

4. Display slider

You go to edit a slider, then you copy the shortcode of slider to display

After you copied the shortcode of slider, now you can put it any where, you can put it into content of a post

5. Import/export

Importer & Exporter is useful for moving slider one WordPress site to another, backing up slider and for theme developers to provide users with sample slider.

6. The Plugin Template

6.1 Default Templates

The plugins allow use template for display layout, so you can custom template easily

You can see in the folder {root}/wp-content/plugins/zf-category-image-slider/templates/

6.2 Custom Template

The plugin support overwrite, custom template from default template. You only create a zf-category-image-slider in the root of activating theme. Copy the template of the plugin you need to custom to here and change what you want to

7. Update The Plugin

Once the new version gets released, you can update via WordPress or FTP .

7.1 Update via FTP:

This is the safest way. If you have access via FTP to your site files, you can update the old one simply by overwriting your wp-content/plugins/zf-category-image-slider folder with the newer one.

7.2 Update via WordPress:

You deactivate and delete the plugin on the Plugin’s administration page of WordPress and upload and active the updated plugin. We recommend the via FTP solution, because it’s safer.

Notice: You should not use the way Update via WordPress. Because this way if you have any changes in plugin folder it will be deleted.
